- Inhibits Na+/K+ ATPase → ↑ intracellular Ca²+
- Positive inotropic effect
- Toxicity: Arrhythmias, visual disturbances

Antihypertensive Agents

Classifications:

  • ACE Inhibitors (Enalapril)
  • ARBs (Losartan)
  • β-blockers (Atenolol)
  • Ca²+ Channel Blockers

Centrally Acting Agents:

Clonidine:
- α₂ agonist → ↓ sympathetic outflow
- ADRs: Dry mouth, sedation

Anti-Anginal Drugs

Nitroglycerine Mechanism:

- Converts to NO → Vasodilation
- ↓ Preload and afterload
- Sublingual administration

Heparin Pharmacology

- Antithrombin III activation
- Monitoring via aPTT
